Our adventure will start this day leaving Ulaanbaatar city for a famous national park, Khugnu Khan, which has a picturesque area with mountains, forests, steppes, Gobi-type desert and mineral water sources all in one location(called also Elsentasarkhai). The area is generally famous by its sand dunes and historical sights. We will get there by lunch time and meet nomads there. After having fresh lunch, we will visit an active small temple, do hiking through a beautiful rocky valley to the ruins of the Uvgun monastery. The half of the road to get there will be rocky, challenging, but the rest will be easy and comfortable to walk. After dinner, it is best time to ride camels around the sand dunes for 1-2 hours and you will have real feeling of our mongolian gobi desert. In the evening, you can have knowledge of mongolian nomadic lifestyle by having conversation with camel herder nomads.BLD.

In the morning, we will travel for 80 km to the Kharkhorin which was the ancient capital city of the Great Mongolia Empire in 13th century. It is located on the right bank of Orkhon river.  The city was ordered to be built by the Chinggis King and completed by the Ogodei king.  The Kharkhorin was destroyed in the 14th century. On the ruin of the city, the Erdenezuu monastery was established in 16th century which was the biggest buddist monastery during that time. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in the 20th century by the communist purge. However, the monastery was restored again and is surrounded by 108 stupas. We will visit the active monastery Erdenezuu and see 2 museums where you can have good knowledge of how the city was like in ancient time and about Mongolian Buddism. There are many things remained in good manner from the city and we will explore the ancient city today.

After having hearty breakfast in the morning, we will leave the ancient city for Tsenkher, a natural hot spa spring, flows from underground, through the seasons, at a temperature of 85 Celsius. The spring is located in central Mongolia in a mountainous region, at 1,860 meters above the sea level. This is beneficial for health and there is a natural spa on-site which is ideal for the travel-tired specially after camel or horse riding. Relaxing in the hot spa bath outside in the nature is really a way to feel the nature. There are also plenty of walking opportunities in the surrounding forest. You will love the wild nature in the countryside. BLD.

Today we will travel to a beautiful lake Ogii which is famous by its birdlife, is one of the biggest lakes in Mongolia and located in Arkhangai province. It has 25.7 km squire area, average depth is 6.64m, in some sections 15.3 m and coastal length is 24.7 km. It is quite stunning place for birdwatching, fishing and swimming. There are 150 sorts of extremely rare and rare species birds of passage come to settle down on the Ogii lake. Also the Ogii lake has 14 sorts of fish belonged to the North Atlantic ocean area such as Esoc lucius, Rutilus lacustrisl, Perca fluviatilis, leucisous idus, Cyprinus carpio haematopterus, Parassius auratus gibelio, lota, Leuciscus baicalensis, Phoxinus pall, Phoxinus peronurus, Barbatula, Toni, Cobitus taenia sibisica and has plenty of fish reserves. You can walk along the lake while enjoying the bird sound in the evening. BLD.

After hearty breakfast, we will drive to Khustai National Park for about 260 km on the asphalt road. On the way, we will stop by an ancient ruin of a Palace dated back to 8th century. It will be interesting to walk in the ruined wall while imagining how it was like in the ancient time. Then travel continually to the National Park which is a fine example of the wide river valleys separated by hilly terrain that characterize forest steppe. There are dozens of wild animals such as wolves, deer, and Przewalski horse which was reintroduced in 1990 with a cooperation of the Foundation Reserves for the Przewalski Horse and the support of Dutch Government. In the evening, we will see the wild horses when they come down from the mountain to drink from water. It will be great to see the wild animals in the nature. BLD.
